Les Ateliers de Broderie

Embroidery is a tradition in West Africa, particularly in Senegal. ASAO created the Embroidery Workshops to continue this craft and provide a livelihood for the approximately 50 women training in the workshops. During an apprenticeship, armed with patience and thoroughness, these women give way to their creativity and the pride of hard work. Each piece is a unique creation. They play with threads, fabrics, and colors. Previously without a regular income, these women can now support their families. They have the opportunity to work at home watching over their children or in the workshop where they can socialize.
