About Made With Love

In 2007 designer Mary Jane Marcasiano formed MADE WITH LOVE, a global initiative dedicated to raising funds and awareness for NGOs aiding women and children in need through the production and sale of products that provide a fair income for women in Brazil, Africa and Haiti.

Made With Love works through the Cygnet Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-for-proﬁt public foundation, which through the proceeds realized from art-related programs, seeks to help those in need – principally children and women, the homeless and the hungry as well as abandoned or endangered animals. www.cygnetfoundation.org

About Founder Mary Jane Marcasiano

Fashion
Marcasiano is the president of her eponymous design company in New York City. She has designed clothing and accessories, under her own brand and for other prestigious fashion companies since 1978. Marcasiano is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design/The New School and the recipient of the Cartier, DuPont, Cutty Sark and Wool Knit Awards and a member of the CFDA since 1979. Marcasiano has licensed her designs to Ben Kahn Furs, Italo Colombo shoes, Otto Grun Jewelry and been a design consultant for Joan Vass, Cole Haan, Malo Tricot and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Latin American Culture Projects
In 2002, Marcasiano produced “Ginga”, a documentary film about Capoeira directed by Gustavo Moraes and was President of the Board of Directors of Jelon Vieira’s DanceBrazil. She currently serves as Director of Development and Special Events Advisor to Cinema Tropical, a non-profit foundation that distributes and promotes Latin American cinema in the United States. She is the programmer for Cinema Tropical’s Music+Film series at 92Y Tribeca and directs their Brazilian film initiative Janeiro in New York. As Chairperson of the 2010 Cinema Tropical Awards Marcasiano helped launch the first ever awards program devoted to Latin American Cinema.

Costume Design
Actively involved with the arts, Marcasiano has designed costumes for DanceBrazil, the New York City Ballet, RythMEK at Jacob’s Pillow, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Michael Thomas Lab and for the short film “ Ate Quando “. Marcasiano designed the costumes for the 2010/11 world tour of Grammy award winning singer Angelique Kidjo. In 2009 Marcasiano collaborated with artist Eric Fischl on costumes for his suite of sculptures titled “ Ten Breaths “ which has been exhibited in Germany, Paris and New York.
